In the EU-CELAC Senior Officials meeting on Science and Technology meeting that took place in March 2016, it was confirmed the commitment to the implementation of the Common Research Area (CRA) based on three pillars: mobility of researchers, access to research infrastructures and jointly addressing common challenges.
Milestones
As a first step in enabling a structured dialogue on research infrastructures (RI), a bi-regional Working Group on Research Infrastructures (WG RI) was established in March 2017, to support policy making and coordination in the RI dimension, facilitating multilateral initiatives leading to a better use and development of research infrastructures amongst the two regions.
